Art Chester's "Special #1", aka "Jeep" was
built in Chicago. The plane was named after Eugene the Jeep from the
Popeye comics. The plane was powered by a 125hp C4-S Menasco engine,
with a wingspan of 16 feet and 8 inches, and a length of 15 feet. Built
strictly for racing the original small craft once held a world speed
record at 237 mph. The unusual shaped wing was a scant 16'4".
